Site of the Week

Chowhound.com

Professional restaurant critic Jim Leff has built a site for "chowhounds," not foodies. What's the difference, you ask? Leff says foodies "go to unfamiliar neighborhoods to eat, but only with their Zagat securely in hand to guide them to The Accepted Places." Chowhounds, by contrast, go out of their way to find hidden culinary treasures. "The places they find and frequent today will show up in newspaper reviews in two years and in Zagat in four."
